Hecate Grid is a leading energy storage IPP that develops, owns and operates standalone storage projects in the U.S.
The platform is jointly owned by Hecate Energy and InfraRed Capital, an infrastructure investment with over $14 billion in assets under management. Launched in September 2018, Hecate Grid has leveraged the deep industry experience of Hecate Energy and the secure backing of InfraRed Capital to establish itself as a leading storage IPP.
Our Name
Hecate -- pronounced “HEK-uh-tee” -- is the Greek goddess of the crossroads whose domain included the earth, sea and sky. Our name reflects our mission of developing power generation resources at the crossroads of traditional and emerging technologies. Our logo evokes the circle of trust shared by a company, its clients and the community when a power project is developed and operates with respect for the people it serves.
Hecate Energy
Headquartered in Chicago, Hecate Energy is a top-ten developer of solar and wind generation facilities and energy storage solutions in North America. Founded in 2012 by a team of energy industry veterans who have worked together for more than 25 years, Hecate Energy’s team members have developed to operating or construction 1.5 gigawatts of solar projects across the U.S.
InfraRed Capital
InfraRed Capital Partners is an international infrastructure investment manager, investing in real assets which contribute positively to society and support the transition to a net zero future. It operates worldwide from offices in London, New York, Sydney and Seoul. With around 170 professionals, it manages US$12bn+ of equity capital in multiple private and listed funds. InfraRed actively manages more than 220 infrastructure projects worldwide and has a long and successful track record investing in onshore and offshore wind, solar PV, as well as the energy storage sector.
